Cleveland Stonewall Democrats endorse Robert Schleper for Cuyahoga County Council
February 16, 2024 – Cleveland – The Cleveland Stonewall Democrats, an active force to help connect and educate candidates to LGBTQIA+ issues and to advance legislation that impact the LGBTQIA+ community as a whole, announced the endorsement of Robert Schleper for Cuyahoga County Council, District 6 in the November 2024 election.
Founded in 2000, Cleveland Stonewall Democrats have been a force in advancing equality at the state, federal and local levels. The organization was instrumental in the fight to approve domestic partner benefits in 2012—a vote that was opposed by Schleper’s opponent, Jack Schron. In 2018, Schron doubled down, opposing anti-discrimination protections for members of the LGBTQ community.
“I am incredibly grateful to have the support of Cleveland Stonewall Democrats in this election,” Schleper said. “For almost 25 years, Cleveland Stonewall Democrats have been tireless leaders advancing issues of equality and fairness for all Northeast Ohioans. I look forward to being a partner in making our county a safe and welcoming community for all.”
